Process Implementation

Process Improvement

·        Implemented system improvement initiative to stabilize technical debt, resulting in need for daily direct database updates to support operations.  In four months, reduced the number of technical hours spent on database updates by 90%.

·        Implemented technical initiative to reduce number of mainframe ABENDs (batch system failures). Reduced the number of system outages by 75%, while increasing mainframe regions by 50%.

Incident Resolution

·        Lead staff in 3-week recovery process resulting from outage in 3rd party software.  Managed daily order pricing and resubmission, preventing hundreds of hours in client operations rework and ensuring seamless workflow due to the incident.

·        Lead team in year-end effort to recover from dividend calculation issue resulting from software application defect that prevented setup of thousands of dividend calculations. Recovery occurred quickly enough to meet year end SLAs.

·        Lead team in effort to correct mutual fund trading errors due to software defect causing all trades to process at JUMBO.  Team implemented processes to correct in flight client and omnibus trades as well as posted transactions.  These efforts reduced gain/loss liability for company.
